At last! It is happening folks. Openreach is working in the village, finally! I know a chunk of the village has had Virgin since last summer, but a number of homes and businesses weren't so lucky. As you can see a new pole has been erected on Leicester road at the bottom of Park street, so myself and a few neighbours should get set up for December (according to the engineers who installed it), the rest of the village will be able to choose from a number of providers if they don't wish to stick with Virgin when it all switched and running.

Openreach will be in the village soon to upgrade to Full Fibre. Yes, Virgin is already here, but there are a number of residential and commercial properties that cannot be connected. Now that Openreach will be carrying out the mandated government required upgrade, ALL properties should be able to get Full Fibre. Those properties that already have this via Virgin will get the options afforded to everyone to choose a different provider, and perhaps get a better deal for their Broadband 👍

The Openreach website checker finally has some exciting news for the village: Fleckney is officially on the "Build" list for this year! This confirms the "inside scoop" from last year’s surprising chat with the Program Director’s office. We're pencilled in for September 2026 providing everything stays on track and the tech gods play nice 🤞
