Pairs Cricket is designed for children under 13 who want to experience hardball cricket in a supportive, fun environment. As the name suggests, the format is based on batting in pairs.
8-a-side, inclusive of all genders
Each team starts with 200 runs
Batters play in pairs for a set number of overs (typically 4)
When a batter is out, they swap ends and the team loses runs (e.g., 5 per wicket)
After all pairs have batted, the teams switch roles — the fielding side then starts on 200 runs and tries to chase the target
This format encourages teamwork, builds confidence, and keeps the game engaging for all players.
